Sound familiar?

You're good at your job. But work is more than work.

You understand your responsibilities. You know what you're doing. And in English, you can express yourself without thinking twice.

But then your colleagues start chatting in Dutch. Someone makes a joke you don't quite understand. Or you find yourself wondering whether that very direct feedback was meant to be helpful or critical.

You don't just want to do your job well. You want to feel part of the team.

Two sides of working in Dutch

Understanding is one thing. Speaking is another.

Feeling comfortable in a Dutch workplace is about more than knowing the language. It's also about understanding how people communicate, what they expect and how you can join in.

Understand the culture

Why are meetings so direct? What does your colleague really mean? And which unwritten rules should you know?

Understanding Dutch workplace culture can make everyday interactions feel much less confusing.

Find your voice

You understand some Dutch, but speaking up in a meeting or joining a conversation with colleagues still feels like a big step.

Building your speaking confidence helps you take a more active part in your working day.
